Our team welcomes Anna Pless as the new Ambassadors of Music coordinator for Massachusetts!
Anna currently serves as the band director for North Attleboro Middle School, where she works with students in grades 6 through 8. She believes that music education is rooted in shared musical experiences and can’t wait to work with, and learn from, this year’s Massachusetts Ambassadors.
Let’s meet Anna!
While new to Ambassadors of Music, she’s traveled the world and can’t wait to see more.
Some of my favorite places in the world include my bachan’s (grandmother’s) home in southwest Japan, anywhere in New England where I can ski in the mountains or kayak on the rivers, and local restaurants like Ambrosia in North Attleboro, where I teach. Each of these places reflects something important to me – spending time with family, being immersed in nature and enjoying truly great food.
She understands the power of traveling with performers who become family.
One of my favorite travel memories is traveling to the Pasadena Rose Parade with my collegiate marching band during my freshman year of college. With nearly 400 fellow students, we flew across the country for what truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
During the trip, we performed at Disneyland, various exhibitions, and, of course, the Rose Parade itself. Sharing such an incredible experience with my band family made it especially meaningful and unforgettable.
Her passion for shared musical experience goes global this summer.
I’m excited to see our ensemble come together and play as one for the first time. This trip offers students the opportunity to not only experience new places and cultures, but to connect with peers from their state that they may have never otherwise had the chance to meet.
Fun Facts:
She’s a pro packer – and never runs out of battery.
My go-to travel item is a larger-than-needed suitcase so I can bring plenty of goodies home with me! Oh, and a portable charger. You won’t find me with an uncharged phone if I can help it!
Her must-have selfie is actually a “groupie.”
At my middle school, we have a “Best Year Ever” bulletin board that we cover with photos for the year. So, I’d be happy to take a selfie anywhere on the AOM tour, as long as it’s with all our amazing students who will be on tour. That picture will be one heck of a first photo for next school year’s “Best Year Ever” bulletin board. I can’t wait!
We’re thrilled to have you on the team, Anna! It’s going to be an incredible summer with the Massachusetts Ambassadors of Music!
