Meet Your State Coordinator

Anna Pless

Anna Pless is a music educator at North Attleboro Middle School in Massachusetts, where she teaches band and general music. She is deeply passionate about creating meaningful musical experiences that help students discover their own love for music while fostering connection, confidence, and community through shared music-making.

Prior to joining the North Attleboro community, Anna worked at the Community Music School in Springfield, MA as both a teaching artist and office administrator, supporting music education across a wide range of ages and experiences.

As State Coordinator for Massachusetts, Anna is honored to bring together students, musicians, and educators to participate in this incredible program. She feels grateful for the opportunity to see students experience other cultures for the very first time, as they dive headfirst into new languages, foods, traditions, and experiences. For her, watching their musicianship grow and seeing new friendships blossom throughout the tour makes every tour incredibly meaningful. And, while she loves the mountains of New England, she’s in awe of the Alps – the scale and beauty take her breath away every time!

My Favorite Ambassadors Memory

My favorite AOM memory was spending our final day exploring Bad Hofgastein, Austria. Riding the lift high above the valley, hiking to a beautiful waterfall, and relaxing in the thermal pools made for an unforgettable day. It was the perfect way to end an incredible tour, surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Austrian Alps and the students and fellow travelers who made the experience so special.

My Favorite Travel Destination

My favorite travel destination is Japan. I may be a little biased since half of my family lives there, but you really can’t beat the incredible food, onsens (hot springs), and culture!

One of my favorite parts of visiting Japan, aside from spending time with loved ones, is attending a matsuri, or summer festival. The food is amazing, wearing a yukata is so much fun, and the fireworks are spectacular. There is something magical about experiencing a Japanese summer festival surrounded by family, friends, and an entire community coming together to celebrate.

One Thing I Never Travel Without

I never travel without a power bank – or two! I have to make sure my phone stays above 30% charge so I can feel confident while exploring somewhere new. My phone is also my go-to travel tool for finding the best restaurants, discovering local attractions, and researching beautiful nature spots wherever I am. A charged phone means I’m always ready for the next adventure!
