Meet Your State Coordinator

Dr. Danh Pham

Dr. Danh Pham is director of bands, and conductor of the WSU Symphony Orchestra at Washington State University. He has conducted numerous international orchestras and bands, in addition to many all-state bands and honor groups throughout the United States. Additionally, Dr. Pham is the music director of the Coeur D’Alene Symphony Orchestra and the Washington-Idaho Symphony Orchestra and is a Conn-Selmer Educational Clinician.

He is honored to join a long line of respected educators who have served in his role as state coordinator, continuing the deep history of Ambassadors of Music in the state of Washington. He is inspired by the life-changing impact this trip has on student performers and the bonds of friendship they experience, as they come together as friends and colleagues and grow as musicians.

My Favorite Ambassadors Memory

In every city, we meet a veteran of our concerts and often they don’t speak English. I have to decipher what they are saying, but through music and their smiles, I understand every word of their love and appreciation.

My Favorite Travel Destination

Japan. I love the culture, I love the people, and I love their sense of discipline and order.

One Thing I Never Travel Without

My phone. My phone has my personal information, my contact with family, my memories of past travel, and my Google maps to tell me how to get to my next destination!
